“It is much more important to know what sort of patient has a disease than what sort of disease a patient has.”

ABOUT ME
I am a general practitioner of psychology and therefore deal with all manner of problems in living and psychopathology. I like to think that I will do anything to be helpful to my patients and that I never give up. I believe that early learning is very important and that we need to understand the genesis of our basic attitudes in childhood in order to be able to modify our behavior in adulthood. I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist as only changes in behavior
will lead to changes in emotion and attitude.

Substance use is often a component and confounder in human interaction and must be considered in any clinical evaluation. Any therapist who is ignorant of substance trouble is less than competent.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. The therapist assists the patient in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying his or her thinking. The therapist then helps the patient modify those thoughts and the behavior that derive from them. CBT has been clinically proven to help patients in a relatively short amount of time with a wide range of disorders, including depression and anxiety.

EXISTENTIAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
Existential Psychotherapy is based on the philosophical belief that human beings are essentially alone and that happiness is derived from living a life of meaning and purpose. True intimacy with others is only possible if the person is authentic and congruent.

INTEGRATIVE THERAPY
Integrative Therapy refers to the interaction between mind and body and the profound effect that our attitudes, emotions and behavior have on our physical well-being. The future of healthcare depends upon our ability to integrate care and promote behavior change. Without it, we will fail and be crushed under the weight of an inefficient and ineffective healthcare system.
